Nelson Évora didn’t reached the standards for the World Championship of 2013. The athlete has been out of the best international meetings to prepare a great moment in the next weekend, in the Portuguese Championship. This event will be the main event to choose the Portuguese team will be at Moscow in the next August.
Until now the best of Nelson in triple jump is 16.68 meters, made during the Portuguese Clubs Championships, in last June. Moscow will be possible if the mark is equal or more than 16.85 meters. Impossible is nothing for the Portuguese jumper.
The other goal for Nelson is win the event for the 8th time and approach the leader. Actually Nelson has 7 victories, under Luís Azevedo (9 victories) and Luís Alcide (8 victories). However the championship record is held by Nelson Évora since 2007, when the victory was reached with 17.26 meters.
The Portuguese Championships will be at Leiria Stadium. Nelson Évora will try the standards for Moscow in the next Sunday (28), from 6:15 p.m.
